Gardening for Good 2013, 9th night

PICO DE GALLO AND PESTO MAKING, AUGUST 1, 2013

The garden is GROWING! We had to really hunker down and get some good work done tonight. Harvesting, watering, staking, redirecting, and general loving attention. I can see that our beautiful garden responds well to this kind of positive regard.

John and Sue were our chefs extraordinaire this evening for our mini-workshop, pico de gallo and pesto making. John has a special nack with a pico de gallo, and gave all of us a fresh full bodied taste of our first tomatoes of the season. Sue’s pesto was perfection, capturing the spicy richness of the basil balanced with all the other tasty ingredients.

It was a delightful evening filled with bounty from the garden, friends that are dear to our hearts, and delicious foods that satisfy the body and soul.
